New Life Kids is our Sunday children’s ministry for infants through fifth grade at New Life Church in Wayland, Michigan. We believe parents are the primary spiritual influence in their kid’s life, and the church is called to come alongside them. Every Sunday, caring leaders create a safe, engaging place where kids are known, discover who Jesus is, and learn to follow Him in everyday life. We partner with parents to help children build a faith that takes root at home, grows through community, and lasts a lifetime.

At New Life Kids, our goal isn't simply to keep kids occupied during a church service. We want to help kids become lifelong followers of Jesus.
We believe children are not only the future of the Church but are an important part of the Church right now. Because of that, we're committed to creating an environment where kids can know Jesus, grow in their faith, build meaningful relationships, and learn what it looks like to follow Him every day.
Every Sunday is designed to help children take one step closer to Jesus through biblical teaching, worship, prayer, and small group relationships that bring God's truth to life.

Because of that, New Life Kids seeks to come alongside families, not replace them. Everything we do is designed to support and reinforce what God is doing in the home. We want parents to feel encouraged, equipped, and supported as they lead their children spiritually.
When the church and home work together, children are given the best opportunity to develop a lasting faith.
Our LeadersThe leaders serving in New Life Kids are more than volunteers.
They are caring adults who are committed to building relationships, investing in children, and helping them grow as disciples of Jesus. Every week they create safe, welcoming environments where kids are known, valued, and encouraged.
Our leaders don't just supervise children. They walk alongside them, celebrate their growth, pray for them, and help point them toward Jesus.

BELONG IS NEW LIFE’S ACCESSIBILITY MINISTRY
This ministry exists to help every person and family experience meaningful belonging in the life of our church. We provide thoughtful support, accessible environments, and individualized care so kids, students, and adults with different learning abilities can participate, grow, and encounter Jesus. Our heart is simple: every person is seen, valued, and has a place to belong.

We have 4 different areas where we’d love to help your family find their fit!
Option 1: attend our 8:15AM service in the main worship center. This service is already intended to be a family service so there will be other children in the room.
Option 2: we offer a separate classroom for children with special needs in Kindergarten-5th grade during our 8:15AM service. This classroom has a separate curriculum used. We will connect with you prior to your visit to ensure we are best ready for your child!
Option 3: during the 8:15AM service, our outreach area of the building will have a livestreamed service with members of our volunteer team for your family to watch the service together in an area that is separate, if this is a need for you.
Option 4: we offer a buddy system during the 9:45am + 11:15AM services for birth-5th grade for our children’s ministry classrooms.

Please fill out the intake form prior to attending. This will allow us to connect with you prior so we can be best prepared for you and your family.

Each option is a little different. While there is bound to be overlap with which option might best fit you, we’d love to help you determine that right fit.
If you feel your child would do well in the large group environment of the main worship center, but would not want to be on their own, you are welcome to attend as a family during the 8:15AM service.
If you feel your child is able to be dropped off, you can help us determine whether they would best fit in our mainstream classrooms during the 9:45am + 11:15AM services with a buddy or whether they would best fit in our specialized classroom held for children with special needs in the 8:15AM.
Finally, if you feel like sitting as a family but it is a need to be in a separate room, our outreach space could be a great fit.

Some of the most meaningful relationships in a kid’s life can begin with an adult who simply shows up consistently and cares. You don’t have to be a Bible expert or a professional teacher to make a difference. (All Volunteers in Kids Ministry pass an annual background check to ensure the highest standards of safety for both kids and volunteers).
